  EARTH GUIDED ONLY - EGO

What stops us from changing?  Why we refuse to change?  It is our own EGO that comes in our way of progress, way for betterment and new life. It is the root of all evils. Ego stands for Earth Guided Only. The opposite of Ego is soul consciousness. It is our attachment to the wrong beliefs about us. It is the false center. We put on a mask of restlessness over our real nature of calmness. We go about masquerading, all our lives with passion. We are intoxicated with ego feeling, agitated state of consciousness, resulting in stimuli of feelings, hence covering the bliss. Ego lives on attention. It feels hungry, deep begging for attention. It is all about me, me and I. All misery enters through ego. Two egos clash because both are not confident of themselves. You are a little spark and yet you extol yourself. I am the owner of the Universe. In reality you do not own anything on the Earth, let alone own the Universe. Ego is home made, fabricated, self manufactured and ugly of course, since it is man-made. We are afraid of being alone, lonely. Hence we invent illusions, TV, clubs, conferences, sects, churches, crowd, and parties, to procrastinate the effort to look inside. This is our self hypnosis through others, attention from others. 

If you are hurt inside with one’s insinuation – it is ego.

If one’s behavior causes you pain – it is ego.

If you speak loudly, and shout to get your point across – it is ego.

If you want to control your children & the world – it is ego.

If you are pointing the index finger and giving orders – it is ego.

If you are worried and anxious for things – it is ego.

If you are suffering and miserable most of the time – it is ego.

If you are generally angry at the world situations – it is ego.

  

AN EMPEROR HAS BIG EGO

One day in the land of Mongolia an emperor Aurangzeb was praying in darkness in a mosque. He was telling the lord, I am nobody. But unfortunately he was not alone in the mosque. There was another common man praying too beside the emperor and he too was saying the same prayer, I am nobody.  At once the Emperor Aurangzeb’s ego, flared up. Who dare say the same prayer? The emperor punished the common man, one of his own subject’s with death by beheading in public, for praying with him and saying the same stuff. The emperor could not tolerate such a simple act. Most people have very low ignition point, and they flare up very quickly over, anything trivial. Ego is hell, misery, and suffering.

THE SUBTLE EGO OF BEING HUMBLE

This is very fine line that most of the old people walk or take up. Their Ego wants to continue even after their DEATH. They insist that the public & grand children remember them for ever. BUT WHY. They will do all kinds of acts of kindness in their old age just to be in the good books of their near & dear ones. They are additionally looking & hoping for a long FUNERAL PROCESSION when they die. This thought makes them happy now. But the big question is HOW would they know that fact when they lying dead in the coffin.  Paradoxically if you have lived a long healthy life & out lived most of your colleagues then who is left behind to attend your funeral, yet you have high expectations for a long long funeral, from the young ones who do not know you enough. Gentlemen & gentle ladies, beware of this foolish expectation cum wish.    

EGO CAN DESTROY YOU

                                   

A well established mature psychiatrist had a solid practice in Los Angeles. One day he was approached by a very beautiful lady, Tyrell for help and consultation. As she walks in to his clinic and the doctor goes flying off the floor. He is totally knocked off by the captivating charm and beauty of our lady patient. He could not control himself. He approaches the lady, hugs her straight away, kisses her and excuses himself for the act on his part. Madame Tyrell, that was my problem, now what is your problem? The lady patient slapped the doctor and sued him for 10 million dollars. The doctor was ruined just because of his ego. Ego gets you into trouble, hence beware, be extra careful.

TEACHERS HAVE BLOATED EGOS

Thomas is a self made man and very ambitious person. He has an extremely bloated ego, which often gets him into trouble and arguments, generally over trifles. Unfortunately he ties the knot with another like minded woman, Taylor through arranged marriage by their elders. Taylor is highly egoistic too and has a very good command on the English language. This makes her egotistic too. We now have the perfect recipe for a life long misery, with two bloated egos under the same roof. It is life long, because divorce is considered a taboo in their culture. Their valued jobs as teachers help them make a fortune, by saving up and not spending on the joys of life. They also make a couple of children, but the quality of life is far from harmonious at home. The uncompromising Thomas, toils and works without stopping for vacations, and ends up with a couple of blood related diseases, including a heart bye pass surgery and diabetes. The public-ally respected Taylor, takes all the beating and hardships on herself, suppressing all her emotions and dreams, consequently ends up with breathing and mouth related diseases including a full blown asthma. This is how egos get you down on your knees, when you want to stand up erect. Both of them suffer from acute arthritis affecting their knee joints specially. This is cosmic energy’s way of indicating to egoistic people, to be humble in life and dealings with loved ones.   

  MONSTER OF EGO

Choice gives you options, but it is accompanied by tensions. This one or that one! Ego comes into play. Duality is created by the mind. In the beginning there is no distinction. Then my toys and your toys! Where to live?  In the hills or in the valley! A huge dilemma cannot make up your mind. Are you for sex & promiscuity or against sex and celibacy? Either way you are in anxiety. When you are in one of them, the grass seems greener on the other side of the fence. Are you for Jesus Christ and Christianity or Anti-Jesus Christ and against Christianity? Well there is still another option available to you, which is being neutral or indifferent to Christ and Christianity. Choose, to wake up from slumber, deep hypnosis or continue sleeping. Few people try consciously to develop the potentials of mind, body and soul. Rest are purely victims of circumstances, of past.  

AWARENESS CAN TAME IT

How do we escape this monster of Ego?  Just drop it, simple! It is easy to say but difficult to do it. The only sure way out is Awareness. You have to be dangerously aware, alert 24/7. Alertness is intensity. Try being as alert as if you are walking a high 12 inch narrow rope bridge over a gigantic ravine or river. The wind is swaying the rope bridge and death is at your heels every step you take towards your destination across the river. This is the highest level of awareness you have ever had or will have when you attempt to venture on such a trip. Therefore become intensely aware of this monster Ego and watch it dropping off, disappearing, and finally gone. Of course hard work is required on your part first, before you can see some results.
