RESPECT IS THE DEMONSTRATION OF ALL VALUES-IMBIBING VALUES


 ABSENCE OF SELF WORTH

Mothers provide the life blood, mind energy, and soul food, to every child who needs it, in order to flourish. Fathers show us how to survive; mothers teach us how to blossom. Mothers help to nurture, the unfolding of the soul, of the child. But when a mother does not know, she is a mother or how to mother, the children around her become lost. They learn the wrong lesson. She is not sensitive to their needs. Her words are spoken harshly and actions are abrupt. She is authoritarian. She knows the rules of mothering but does not possess the grace. The grace of the mother’s love will break the rules, when it is necessary in order to nourish a child.                           

NOT GOOD ENOUGH FEELING

In the face of an authoritarian mother or caretaker, a child’s growth is stunted. The child will have an unfolded heart. It is too difficult, even painful, for them to express, how they feel, or what they need. Unexpressed feelings and needs lead to anger and fear. Eventually they grow up to be a bad parent, with a closed heart. Children learn early in life, that adults place value on perceived beauty. Children who are not valued and protected feel that they are not beautiful and worthy of protection. The truth is that beauty is, on the inside not out there.                      

SENSE OF BELONGING & APPROVAL

Children yearn for their parent’s approval. They need to belong and this important need motivates our behavior in life. A little girls relationship with her father, impacts her relationship with men, in real life. Why are girls, into people pleasing, all the time? You cannot make people like you, no matter how hard you try.
The lesson is: What you think about yourself, is more important, than what others think about you? Since you do not get external acceptance, and approval, you are desperately seeking; you reinforce the belief, that you are neither worthy nor valuable, or good enough. You continue to work harder, in the wrong direction, learning the lesson, upside down. Parents and role models distract you, from yourself. They are uncomfortable, giving you unconditional love. They want you to become, something else, apart from what you already are. They focus on your transformation and make sure that you are not content as you are. This implies that you are worthless. You are unworthy, undeserving, and not good enough. They teach you the wrong lesson to be dishonest with yourself. This is the starting point, of all future sufferings and miseries to come.  

  DADDY’S GIRL

All little girls, want to be loved, praised, and protected by their daddies. A daddy is a hero to his little girl, even if the whole world thinks, he is a bum. Daddy can do no wrong, except to hurt mommy. No girl wants to disappoint her daddy, so she tries very hard. Girls loved to be swooped up for a good job done, by their daddies, which is an essential element to the tender budding psyche of hers. No matter what is going on in the little girls’ life, she believes that her daddy can fix it, save her, and make everything better, even if, he cannot. Little girls learn a lot from the women, they grow up around, whether they are related or not. Older women are like midwives, who assist in the birth, of a young woman’s consciousness. Young girls with budding breasts and plump round bottoms need woman hood training, in the sacred art and science of becoming a woman. She must be extremely sensitive, of her feminine side, as it grows within her and through her.


 LACK OF SELF RESPECT

The seeds of miserable lifestyle are surely sown in childhood very early in life. Self esteem, or commonly known as self confidence is the single most key ingredient in determining ones attitude latter in life. Parents can help build up this prime raw material or miss out on it totally. Apart from missing out, parents unconsciously help build up negative esteem which grows like a fungus and takes roots so firmly that it can never be rectified ever. The core of the negative esteem is FEAR. It is injected into your mind, soul and body very slowly, and you as an innocent soul absorb it unconsciously. In all your early years, this dragon of fear if hammered into you thousands of times till you give up and accept it meekly against your will. It starts with fear of God, fear of society at large, fear of other people, fear of loss of the Family Honor and Respect, all invisible entities that exist only in the mind of elders around you.

OTHER PEOPLE’S PERCEPTION IS MORE IMPORTANT

To be exact, it the fear of what other people might think of your actions, behavior and dealings.  Their thinking about you was more important, than your own life. In short you were utterly confused and tormented mentally about these invented ghosts.  All this lead you into a doubting Tom. You walked the planet like a vacillating idiot, perpetually in a dilemma, to be or not to be, to act or not to act at all. Of course you choose to err on the safe side and held back everything, closed your self in a shell, instead of opening up, blossoming up and growing up normally and fully functional. You moved ahead in life with brakes on. You inched forward at snail slow speed while others raced fast by you over taking you at top speed, and you watched helplessly. The brakes can be quantified as over protective parents,  never letting you be alone, breathing over your shoulders, helping you in every task, you did as if you were mentally challenged already. This did lead you to be partially mentally challenged eventually. The “brakes on” mode generated heat and pain in you. You ended up feeling hurt at all times, nursing past hurts and never forgetting them, feeling upset and dissatisfied with everything and everyone, taking every remark, situation personally, allowing yourself to switch off hundreds of times in a day. Being unhappy without any reason whatsoever, always complaining and blaming others, including your God was an everyday routine. The over whelming feeling, of scarcity in your life, in spite of having everything, never left you! A closed mindset and I know all, attitude was a big help too. All of these special qualities made sure that you had very limited physical skills and lots of self limiting beliefs.
I can not speak in public.
I can not change my profession.
I can not manage in a new town.   
I can not handle sales and strangers.
I can not swim or go sailing, boating.
I can not give up the entire existing environment.
That everything is wrong and nothing is right.
That the whole world is plotting against you.

This is a superb recipe for misery. We as parents need to understand, where we are, leading our children to?

WHAT EVER YOU FOCUS ON EXPANDS IN LIFE

If you focus on your studies you do well in the exams and class. You focus on scarcity in life you will have nothing. If you keep complaining and repeating how unwell and diseased you are, your disease will expand infinitely, because that is what you keep asking and wishing for. You need a much focused train of thoughts to achieve an orgasm during love making. A large number of women never achieve an orgasm in their lives, because they harbor multiple opposing emotions in their minds :Social pressures, Religious bindings, Fear of getting pregnant, fear of separation / divorce, pain of delivering the child, hassle of bringing up the child, pressure of job & home, no time for self, Vs temporary pleasure of togetherness, short lived satisfaction of sharing, small boost to self esteem of being married. 

UNIVERSE IS DESIGNED TO MANIFEST WHAT YOU ASK FOR

This universe is similar to a GENE of the Aladdin’s lamp. What does the Gene always says to you? “YOUR WISH IS MY COMMAND, MASTER”. Therefore be very careful what you wish for, ask for, even jokingly, because the universe is designed to manifest what you ask for. It reads your intentions very accurately and quickly. Do you see the Auto Pilot now?

Personally, I thank the cosmic energy every day, for providing me with everything I need. I never get angry on any occasion, hence the chance of an argument, war of words, or a fight does not arise. I keep smiling at the futility of this exercise when my dear ones raise their voice, shout and fight with me over trifles. I can see through their gimmick and reason of the fight, which happens to be the way they were brought up, no fault of theirs. They are upset with themselves, not with me. 

I CHOOSE TO BE A PUNCHING BAG FOR MY PEACE OF MIND

I am just a punching bag for them, and I offer smilingly to be one, which is more troubling for them. You can not fight with a stone wall or a punching bag, you need another like minded ignorant human to fight first and feel miserable afterwards for weeks to come. This is how life slips by you. They may label me as weak, coward or simply mad, because I chose not to react in the same language as theirs. This is what Brahma Kumaris teach you to practice in everyday life. TOLERANCE & ACCOMMODATION         

  SILENCE CAN WORK AGAINST YOU AT TIMES

There are times and circumstances when silence works against you. It can kill your heart and soul. This particular silence can destroy your identity, your spirit. That is, when silence is used as a means of avoiding something, you know must deal with. When you use silence to hide the truth, to avoid the facts, or color the obvious, it will destroy your sense of worth. It demonstrates your belief that people who tell the truth don’t matter, but they do. Not speaking up for yourself gets you into major problems. You come to learn the worst possible aspects: Speaking only half truth, delaying to ask for help, even not speaking up at all. Being overly concerned, with what others will think about me. Ignoring the pain and being afraid to say no, for the fear of loosing dear ones, staying in painful situations long enough, being afraid to make a mistake, by not trusting yourself and believing that a mistake if made, cannot be rectified.                                       

SILENT SELF IN-TUITION

Silence is a very good teacher. It teaches you many things. It teaches you how to listen and how to hear. It teaches you how to feel and how to translate into words, what you are feeling. It allows you to go deeper inside, to find the peace that surpasses understanding. Peace that allows you to move forward. Most of the time silence is a good thing. It makes possible, to remember your pain, without experiencing it again. You can feel bad and recover without it being hard on you. You have to heal hundreds of wounds, but one at a time.                      
COSMIC ENERGY IS SILENT TOO

Cosmic energy is mute and it does not give advice or tries to fix things for you. It just listens and lets you work out for yourself. Basically it is a self help tutor. Just remember that you are needed by everyone and everyone is in need of you. Hence you are a very important person. Like people first, ask questions later. You are not the light or the source of light, nor the source of truth. Light will shine in many dark areas of your life, only if you reflect it. You are merely a mirror. Know that the light you shine on others is always reflected back on to you a hundred fold.

DIVINE SECRET - “Focused intention is enough to accomplish a result”.
                
They automatically seek fulfillment. How do you learn to play music or sing songs? Practice and more practice. How do you become a sports player? Hard work and dedicated effort is needed. When you start this process in childhood the results are unparalleled. Same thing with intentions, desires, wishes. You write them down, read them aloud everyday, think of them being already delivered to you and you are enjoying their fruits. Every one of us is aware of the SELF-FULFILLING PROPHESY. It can be positive or negative, either way. DESIRE, IMAGINE, WILL, CREATE, MANIFEST. You are capable of big things. You have the capacity to manifest anything: good or bad, it’s up to you. Believe in your powers to manifest. Believe very strongly, without any doubts: 110 % always.  ASK, BELIEVE, AND RECEIVE.  Act as if you have already got it.

Mingle, merge, mill, jostle, flock together in search of something or without any purpose. Eating street  food with your two hands while standing & or moving .
Feel extreme centrifugal force with intense joyfulness on the Ferris  wheel.
Witness the stupidity of others, their gluttony, low grade obsession, their poor  manners,  slack jawed mouth breathing  &  pop eyed yahoo tube expressions, hence feel sophisticated by comparison. Joy does not lie outside of us. It can not be found in meaningless stupidities invented by the unrealized mind.


LONG LASTING HAPPINESS THROUGH SOUL CONSCIOUSNESS


BEARS  DREAM LODGE

Every Soul has the capability to quiet the mind & enter the Dream lodge silence & know the answers to their questions that fill our realities.    As the Bear seeks honey which is the sweetness of Truth within the hollow of an old tree, enter the Womb cave to hibernate, to digest the year of experience & receive the nourishment from the placenta of the Great Void. Dream lodge is the Void where the death of illusion of physical reality happens & overlays the expansiveness of Eternity. Confusion turns into clarity here. Die Alive like the Bear. Travel to the cave/Dream lodge, seek answers & then return back in new birth like spring returns with new set of leaves & flowers. 

INTUITION IS THE BEST TEACHER

When you seek advice from others, it is a sign that you have placed your own innate knowing aside. You have discounted your own inner treasure house of intuition which is specifically for your life needs & your personal evolution. Anything less than doing of that which gives you most Joy is denial. Dream your dreams in the Dream lodge & own them with that strength, & you will be ready to discover the honey waiting in the tree of life. Womb cave is also known as Brahma's Cave, which corresponds to the Pineal gland in our brain, the seat of the SOUL.

CONTENTMENT OF A HUMMING BIRD

A song is a vibration of uninhibited joy. A birds chirp is also a vibration, though a shrill & loud one. Be in tune with the celestial music & vibrations for complete harmony. Fill up the paroxysms of joy & experience the renewal of the magic of living. Pure bliss of life & living can only be tasted  & felt with an open heart. The intoxication of true happiness of contentment is your personal medicine & then you become a  potent medicine for others to help them taste the succulent nectar of life. 

Humming bird feathers are used as live charms to open, closed hearts, sorrowful half shut hearts, & repair, broken down hearts. 
   
Personally, I have no problem at all in my life. I am the most fortunate soul on the planet. Things happen automatically when you are connected to Cosmic Energy earnestly. In 1998 we had to migrate to Canada, the waiting time of 4 years shrank only for us and we got the landed immigrant visas in record time of 8 months. The personal interview for the whole family was also waived, which again is rarity. Finally the whole settlement process in Canada went so smoothly that our uncle and aunt were astonished at the speed of the events. We call our uncle Columbus jokingly, because he was the first one to come to Canada, Halifax in the year 1958. Since then he has help settle down 36 families. My first job, our own house, school for children, and transport manifested as if a Gene was doing it for us at our command. Now life is even better, when I am fully retired with all pension benefits and a very comfortable part time job which leaves me lots of spare time for my passions of Swimming, Ice skating & Meditation / Raja Yoga.

  HEALING YOUR PAIN

A doctor or a surgeon, can repair a damaged heart, but never repair a broken heart. But if you live long enough with a broken heart then you will definitely end up with a damaged heart. 

It is only YOU, who can do this. Of course a healer can help and assist.  When you discover that something is broken in your life, mind, heart, or spirit, you must go deep down, to find out the cause of the breakage. So you open up the component, examine it minutely; find the origin of the breakage or malfunction. Then, you decide to fix it or replace it. If fixing is needed, got to do it very carefully, delicately and give it a test run.  Otherwise throw it away and replace it. Clean up the place, it once occupied. This is called Closure. It is a prerequisite, for HEALING. Many times, when love or lack of love, breaks our hearts, we allow our hearts to become brittle, hard and we close up, totally. We do not have to be so harsh, on our selves. For your own sanity, accept it. It is another lesson to be learnt. The trick is, to LET GO.

Letting go, is accepting, learning and experiencing it, as you grow up.
Letting go, is to be thankful for the experience that made you laugh and cry.
To let go, is to cherish the memories, to over come and move on. 
To let go, is not, thinking sad thoughts, and forgetting.
It is having an open mind and confidence in the future.
It is neither winning or loosing, nor giving in.
It is not about pride and how you appear.
It is not obsessing or dwelling in the past.
It should not leave feelings of emptiness, hurt, sadness, jealousy, or regret.
It is certainly about you; all you have had and will have, soon again.

LOVE WILL COME BACK FOR SURE

Have the courage to accept change and summon up strength, to keep moving on. It is realizing that the heart can sometimes be the most potent remedy. Love is not a thing or a material object, which can be lost, when given. It is like an ocean. It is bound to come back, if you allow it. Be prepared to open a door, clear a path, and set yourself free. Break up! No, never. You have to do it gently, respect fully, do not be hard on yourself and the other person. Don’t fight sadness. Try to make it go away. Welcome it, indulge in it, feel it. Buy yellow roses as friendship signal and become stronger.                             

PAIN IS A SIGNAL FOR ACTION  - NOT TYLENOL 

Pain and suffering is inevitable in this world, but being miserable is optional. This brings the ball back into your coat. Pain in the human body is a signal for action. Physical harm or hurt, like an injury or a disease will cause severe pain. Now, is the time to get a doctor to make a house call on you? The doctor will examine you thoroughly and conduct a couple of tests, to make sure what and where the malady lies. If the results of the tests are positive, the doctor will take corrective action and fix your problem. If the results of the tests are negative, you are stuck with a bigger problem, which this doctor cannot fix.  It is chronic pain syndrome. Chronic pain is long lasting, irritant, dis-enabling you, from doing your normal social activities: working a job, loss of memory, upset appetite, sleeplessness, perpetual fatigue, slowing down in movements, saying no to sexual pleasures and missing out on laughter and joy, which life has to offer. Your cognition, about chronic pain is fundamental to this cause.                                     

In the primitive days, pain was associated with evil spirits.
In the Judaeo-Christian era, pain was accepted as punishment for sins.  
In Greece, pain is taken up as a challenge to deal with.
In China, pain is identified with imbalance in Yin-Yang energies.
Today, pain is the basis of disease-medicine model for doctors.

  CRYING OUT

Crying is therapeutic. Tears contain seeds of healing. Through crying we get in touch with those experiences that we have forgotten, hidden, buried away in the pit of our souls. There are many different varieties of tears.                    

TEARS UNSHED

Unshed tears get caught in our throats, making it hard for us to speak our truth, express honestly and move on. Babies cry when they are hungry, scared and cold. They cry when they think they are alone or about to be harmed. If you don’t kiss them before you put them to sleep they will cry themselves to sleep. Babies cry when their mothers die, and fathers leave them. They cry silently when you lock them up in the closets and beat them up, or when they believe that you love other babies more than you love them. Lastly if you tell babies not to cry then they will end up in a Mental Institution.                                                                  

TEARS OF ANGER

The origin of angry tears is in the Ego. They create heat and stiffness in the body, shattering our image. Angry tears originate from the outside corner of the eyes. They are easier to wipe away. They occur at unexpected moments or inappropriate times. Anger is not acceptable in public, hence held back, because it reveals our vulnerability. We as children are wrongly taught that boys don’t cry and we grow up with this belief. 

TEARS OF SADNESS

Sad tears come from the heart. They create bending of the shoulders and drooping of the head. Sad tears originate from the inside corner of the eyes. They find their way across your nose, cheeks, lips and you lick them.

TEARS OF FRIGHT

Frightened tears originate from the soles of our feet and shoot up through the body to create trembling, shaking in the whole body. The chief cause is fear. These tears originate from the entire eyes. They are big tears and well up clouding our vision and thinking. 

TEARS OF SHAME

Shame filled tears originate from the pit of our stomach, causing us to bend in anguish. They fall when we judge, criticize, or beat up ourselves. 

TEARS OF COMBINATION

Finally we have the combination tears. They are all of the above. They have the stiffness of anger, drooping of sadness, trembling of fear, and bending of shame. You get cold and nauseated. Women handle crying and tears better than men can do.  Men have to learn this particular lesson from women.  
                      
CHRONIC PAIN SYNDROME

When you continue to accept your cognition of pain syndrome, the pain persists and gets you into a vicious loop. Doubting emotions are self fulfilling beliefs. First you loose hope and then loose control over self. The next set of emotions that take over, are anxiety, anger, revenge, for the person who you think, is responsible for your pain, depression, despondency, and finally frustration. All this is in your mind. 

VISIBLE MANNERISMS TO HARNESS PITY / ATTENTION

The experts call it cognition dissonance. It is your inner turmoil resulting from contradictions in personal beliefs and behavior. Cognitive behavior embraces a whole range of mannerisms. You become visible to others, by using supports, canes, crutches, chairs. You also use rubbing, frowning, twitching, jerking, sighing, to draw attention. You voice yourself by moaning, complaining and verbalizing. When you are all alone you reinforce the thoughts by silly self-talk in your head. Why me? The pain hurts and hurts badly. The mind helps the body cooperate, by the absence of all brain-chemicals specially, endorphin's

SELF TALK & SELF ESTEEM

Chronic pain management encompasses three primary stages. Cognitive restructuring, is achieved by asserting yourself positively. You stop self-talk thoughts, by giving a command to self. Gradually you become useful, thus boosting up your self-esteem, to get out of the loop. Relaxation and deep breathing are recommended as the second step.  Self-hypnosis, by visualizing on pleasant events, helps on mental level. Lastly you must exercise to release brain chemicals in the system. Exercising additionally helps reconditions your muscles, tissues and stamina on the physical level.  

HUMOR IS ESSENTIAL
His world drama is the biggest comic play ever scripted. Unfortunately it is not directed by HIM. It is directed by TIME & KARMA - go figure.
Lucky is the man who can laugh on himself, for he shall never cease to be amused. 
ACCEPTANCE IS THE KEY - not only about local issues but global ones too.  
Get comfortable with yourself and your opinions about life. Everyone has opinions about life & in many cases, opinions can be humorous to other people. People who are naturally humorous are typically willing to find humor in both themselves and their opinions. If you are too uptight or self-conscious, it will be difficult to find humor in such things. Good-humored individuals embrace their flaws and laugh them off & let them go in a healthy way. Self-acceptance is the key to a happier life. It takes a lot of mental energy to come up with quick-witted quips that keep grins on others' faces. Those who have a good sense of humor tend to be more creative.  

A good sense of humor responds to the flow of conversation in ways that are creative entertaining. A good sense of humor means you can see things from different sides, angles, & in different ways.  There's a strong connection between humor and creativity.  Basically, everyone likes a good laugh. Having a sense of humor will help you breeze through the toughest periods of your life. It is desirable attractive, because just like optimism, not everyone has it, but everyone desires it.


Sense of humor is the most important human quality. A positive outlook & a sense of humor are the top attributes cited by people who are looking for a spouse / mate. 

Moreover, having a good sense of humor helps you to stay healthy emotionally, first & physically automatically. Humor helps you to release stress & to keep an optimistic attitude. When you feel anxious or sad, a good laughter can lighten your mood. 

Life is better when you are laughing. No one knows that more than good-humored individuals. Those who have a good sense of humor not only see the value in making others laugh, but they prioritize laughter themselves. As a result, they're healthier and happier for it. Smiling instantly boosts your moods. Laughing can soothe tensions & melt stress. That light-hearted attitude does help you live longer. Bring it on, birthdays.


WIT IS TOTAL ALERTNESS & CREATIVE THINKING
Wit is a form of intelligent humor, the ability to say  things that are clever & funny. A Witty person is skilled at making such remarks. Varieties of wit include the quip, repartee, pun & wisecrack. Wit involves a very quick mental sharpness, being able to see a situation in a unique way & instinctively  respond with a relevant comment or come back. Puns jump from one context to another by using different meanings of a single word. 

Fruit flies like bananas.
Time flies like an arrow.


LAUGHTER TRULY IS THE BEST MEDICINE - EXTERNAL MATTER  
Humor always involves amusement outwardly manifested by a smile, chuckle or laughter. But what are all those chuckles actually doing for your body? People who have a good sense of humor use it to their advantage. Those giggles stimulate the organs, improve the immune system & well being.
It takes merely 4 Risorius muscles to SMILE & 44 Zygomaticus muscles to FROWN. A full blown laughter uses 317 muscles in the body. Medically speaking Laughter is the noise you produce with partially closed vocal chords. 

For many of us, laughter is a perfectly normal part of human existence: it helps us build relationships, generates good brain chemicals, like endorphins & releases pent-up tension. It can even improve your cardiovascular function.
A good long session of laughter among-st friends & best buddies results in weakening of the body muscles & flooding of the blood with endorphins resulting in a high mental state of  Euphoria. This is the reason why teenage girls can not stop giggling over trifles, when they are together.

Start by loosening up! Remember that laughter is contagious, so if you carry yourself in an open & humorous way people will be ready to laugh.  Because we humans are wired to instinctively respond like for like, facial expressions are contagious. When taken, the homily’s implied advice to put on a happy face does work to benefit society in that smiling people cause those around them to smile.
But unfortunately for unlucky many, it's no laughing matter at all. Yet smiling is not just good for the community in which the sad sack or grouch lives; it is also beneficial to the person doing the grinning. Facial expressions do not merely signal what one feels but actually contribute to that feeling. If we smile even when we don’t feel like it, our mood will elevate despite ourselves. Likewise, faking a frown brings on a sense of not much liking the world that day.

HAPPINESS IS SILENT & INTERNAL MATTER.

March 20 th is the International Day of Happiness. A day to celebrate the importance of happiness in our lives & the worldAs we celebrate International Day of Happiness every year, it's fascinating to consider the way our brain is able to detect genuine happiness in other people. Our brains are very sensitive to the social & emotional responses.
Wcan always tell people who are truly happy just from their laugh. The brain responds differently to fake & real laughter. People demonstrate different neurological responses when they hear false laughter. Therefore stop faking, because it does not help you in any way. When was the last time you had a true, honest to goodness laughing jag? The kind where your mouth and stomach hurt from the amazing pain of hilarity, even if you can't quite remember what started it in the first place? Well, it might be time to get back to that place & time.

BEING FUNNY IS COMIC - A PROFESSION

Being funny means being able to express humor of one kind or anothermaybe a pratfall, a witty pun, or a good joke of course, well-timed. Having a sense of comedy means being able to laugh ator see the humor in life's absurdities. Trying to be funny is usually seen as practical. physical, bitter, sarcastic & nasty.

Make jokes / gags at your own expense. Audiences appreciate when you make yourself the target of comedy. It will help them open-up and they will find it easier to laugh at both you & themselves.

Anecdotal comedy belong to funny personal stories that may or may not be embellished. Hyperbolic comedy is characterized by massive exaggeration. Ironic comedy is when the meaning of the joke is the opposite of the actual meaning. Professional comedians say timing is everything & key to comic delivery. Stories / jokes are made more funny when the teller pauses right before the punchline to build up drama & anticipation. You can also wait to laugh until a couple seconds after the punchline, that way people can never be sure if you are joking or not. Always give your audience time to laugh before moving on to a different topic.


JOKES MAKE UP CONVERSATION

The punch line to every joke involves a jump from one context, which the listener has been led to assume, to a different, but valid context. Jokes use a context jump to change an apparent negative to a positive.  These are especially valuable in conversation.  Arnold Palmer and Stevie Wonder meet and Arnold is amazed to find that Stevie, although blind, plays golf.  They talk about how Stevie's caddy helps him set up, aim, & swing the club accurately.  Arnold expresses great admiration, then, surprisingly, Stevie challenges Arnold to play a round - for $1,000 a hole.  Arnold is half insulted and manages to reply, You're on, when do you want to play?  Stevie replies, Oh, any night next w
eek is fine.

DRY SENSE OF HUMOR FALLS FLAT - avoid it


Much of' deadpandry, or C class grades of humor relies upon sarcasm & depravity.  A person with a dry sense of humor tells a joke & it is not immediately obvious if it is serious or comicIt appears to be both at the same time, requiring some work on the part of the listener to discern for himself. The challenge is to "get it" in the way it was intended. A very crucial aspect to humor is its delivery by the person. Speed & accuracy are other essential components of good delivery.
